1st birthday for Macquarie Heart in Dee Why
Since opening in April 2018, Macquarie Heart Dee Why has been providing an invaluable service to patients on the Northern Beaches, says Cardiologist Dr Alex Jacobsen.
The cardiovascular clinic in Dee Why was officially opened by The Honourable Brad Hazzard MP (local Member for Wakehurst and NSW Minister of Health) in April 2018, and has been providing cardiovascular consultations, cardiac and vascular imaging services, and diagnostic testing.
Dr Jacobsen said that many northern beaches patients had previously waited up to three months to see a cardiologist, If a person has a suspected heart condition, three months is a long wait to see a specialist. Hopefully we have eased that burden by providing additional cardiology services to patients in the area - especially given the recent closure of Manly and Mona Vale Hospitals.
Despite our heathy, outdoor lifestyle, cardiovascular disease remains prevalent on the northern beaches at around 21% of the population. Our Dee Why clinic provides northern beaches patients with access to the cardiovascular services they need within a shorter timeframe and still be close to home, said Dr Jacobsen.
Dr Jacobsen is joined at the clinic by Dr Elizabeth Shaw (Cardiologist) along with a team of cardiac and vascular sonographers and technicians.
Macquarie Heart Dee Why is located at Suite 4213, Dee Why Grand Commercial Tower, 834 Pittwater Road, Dee Why. Phone: 9133 7050.
