Dr. Michael Stephen

Vascular & Endovascular Surgeon

Dr Michael Stephen is a vascular and endovascular surgeon of more than 20 years and has extensive experience in complex vascular surgery. He was a member of the group performing Australia’s first “key hole” surgery for aortic aneurysms and has had an expanding interest in minimally invasive surgery since.

Dr Stephen’s specific areas of interest and treatment include: aortic aneurysm stent grafts, thoracic aneurysms and dissections (stent grafts), lower limb and arterial disease, Iliac, femoral and tibial angioplasty and stents, carotid stenting, laser (EVLT) treatment of major venous incompetence, sclerotherapy (injections) for lesser venous disease, aneurysms, arterial occlusions, carotid and venous disease, complex vascular reconstruction with advanced tumor surgery.

Dr Stephen was a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the University of Sydney. He was a foundation member of the ANZ Society of Vascular Surgery and also the Vascular Unit at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Dr Stephen is fully accredited at Macquarie University Hospital and the Mater Hospital in North Sydney. He consults from our Chatswood and Dee Why rooms.
